TRANSFORMING STUDENTS’ LEARNING THROUGH DE PROGRAM

To get Education, is the birth right of every child and to ensure the same, AIF, with collaboration with government schools and support from Punjab & Haryana government, came up with a revolutionary program, DE program; integrating technology with course curriculum to enhance students’ learning capability, by building better understating of concepts and emphasizing on the practical aspects of the course being taught.

    Implementation of DE program in schools has touched lives of millions of students across the country, promoting conceptual understanding, eagerness to learn new things. It has not only motivated the teachers to play the role of a facilitator but has also motivated the students to think beyond the four walls of classroom. Students gained confidence with PBL techniques and started participating in the activities. The program also resulted in steep decrease in drop-out rates of students.

  The program had a marvelous impact on the life of Priyanka, a student of GSSS, sector 15, Panchkula. She was an average student and lacked confidence and in spite of having course knowledge, she used to refrain herself from participating in the classroom activities. With the implementation of DE program, her personality transformed into a confident girl, who started taking initiative to teach other mates,
with the integration of technology. She got so much motivated that she also started teaching the underprivileged children in her surroundings. She made use of audio-visual aids to simplify the learning process. She has cleared her metric with flying colors and has been focusing on future to excel her capabilities.





DE program has not only influenced the lives of students but has also made a difference in enhancing the overall personality of the teachers too. The teachers experienced professional as well as personal growth. Meenakshi Tulli, a science teacher of GSSS Panchkula joined DE program and took initiative for bringing change in the traditional classroom techniques. She came up with innovative ideas to teach students. For an instance she created ‘Science Pitara’, a science dictionary, making the students understand difficult science words. She inspired the children to learn and implement the concepts of science in real life. Her results were improved with the implementation of innovative ideas and PBL in the class. Ms. Tulli gained more confidence in herself and the students.
